For many years, the Muslims tried to conquer the Christians in their bloodthirsty wars. During the year 1453, the Muslims were trying again, but this time, with a new weapon It was far more advance than the weapons they had back in the 15th century. It was a huge bronze cannon, or know as the Dardanelles Gun. The cannon was so destructive that the people knew that they were secured in their so called everlasting walls. The 21 year old Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II or typically known as Mehmed the Conquerer said one legendary quote. That quote was, " There is only one thing I want, give me Constantinople." As the eager and humble Sultan wanted Constantinople, one man was a barricaded in his way. He also had another famous quote. Here is the quote, " I will as the law commands, spare you the citizens of this great city, harm neither your families nor your belongings if you voluntarily surrender to me." That was Mehmed the Conqueror.
